Fairway’s Chris Fox runs for Cancer Research UK

Fairway PSD’s Management Accountant, Chris Fox, took part in the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2012 to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The 26.2 mile race took place on Sunday 27th May in Edinburgh, UK, and saw a record breaking 23,000 runners take part from over 100 countries- with Chris finishing an impressive 781st! Despite a heat wave breaking out over much of the UK, highs of a much more manageable 19°C over the course between Edinburgh city centre to Gosford House and then Musselburgh made the run much more bearable for Chris. As did a number of local residents with hosepipes!

Chris completed the course in 3:27:03, knocking over half an hour off his previous PB of 4:00:16, and in doing so raised £1,160 – which included a generous donation from CDL Group and its staff! This was Chris’s fourth marathon since taking up running in 2004, and to date he has raised £5,949 for Cancer Research UK; a charity dedicated to improving the lives of millions of people affected by cancer.
